The EcoYOU project, “Clean and Green Minds for an Environmentally Friendly Behaviour”, is funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme and co-financed by the European Union.
The overall objective of the project is to implement a series of actions aimed at raising awareness among young people about all forms of pollution. EcoYOU addresses the common challenge of pollution in the Black Sea Basin area by developing awareness-raising activities, joint youth camps, and a variety of educational tools.
The project also aims to enhance the participation and active involvement of local communities, as well as public authorities, in environmental protection initiatives. Achieving this objective could lead to a measurable reduction in plastic waste in rivers, lakes, and the sea.
The EcoYOU project is funded through the NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, co-financed by the European Union. It is led by the Agency for Cross-Border Cooperation and European Integration (Cahul, Moldova) and is implemented between June 2024 and December 2025, in partnership with Romanian organizations Mare Nostrum NGO and PRO Natura Galați, as well as NALAG (National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia) from Tbilisi, Georgia. The total budget of the project is €432,734.40.
The expected results of this project include the development of a Joint Study, which incorporates the BluE-Map – an interactive tool designed to raise awareness among young people in the Black Sea Basin (BSB) regions about environmental protection. This platform will serve as both an educational and engagement resource, encouraging environmentally responsible behavior and a better understanding of regional pollution challenges.
